Homosexuality : It’s nothing new!

In the Indian mythology the Lord Pushan acts as a protector to protect a man being exploited by other men. As we can see how old the concept of Homosexuality is and, how new it looks when we look far behind the realms of our lives. The Lord Pushan protects man from being exploited from the dirty clutches of homosexuality. As far as the Indian legends are concerned there are some Hindu texts which consider Homosexuality to be a sin while some other scriptures the act of Homosexuality is considered a joyful and natural act.
The decade that we just passed through can also be known as the “LGBT rights” decade as there have been a lot of parades and protests not only in India but all around the world.  It began in Netherlands in 2001,it was almost an overnight thing when suddenly from none 10 countries in the world legalized Gay Marriage in their respective regions. Now, almost 130 out of 195 countries in the world have legalized Gay marriage but 40 of them have outlawed male bonds specifically. USA recently legalized LGBT marriages!

In Greek Mythology , Artemis and Athena both had same gender lovers.Same was the case with Poseidon and Poleps. The patron god of intersex and transgender people is Dionysus.
Homosexual encounters are common in Chinese folk stories. The animal spirits or fairies often choose same-sex partners, usually young men or boys.According to Xiaomingxiong, one exception to this age preference is the dragon, a powerful mythological beast. Chinese dragons "consistently enjoys sexual relationships with older men", one example being in the tale of "Old Farmer and a Dragon", in which a sixty-year-old farmer is forcibly sodomised by a passing dragon, resulting in wounds from penetration and bites that require medical attention.

In India, in the Hindu mythology there are no signs of Homosexuality existing but Trans genders have existed throughout the Mythology, with God’s changing forms sometimes even to the other gender.
"“Hindu society had a clear cut idea of all these people in the past. Now that we have put them under one label ‘LGBT’, there is lot more confusion and other identities have got hidden.”
— Gopi Shankar in National Queer Conference 2013 organised by Sappho for Equality
The gist is, it’s not as new as it sounds, respect people’s choices, it’s their life, not yours. And if god’s can do it, so can Humans.
